ISO/IEC 27001:2005 (commonly referred to as ISO 27001) is an internationally recognised standard which encompasses both the physical and logical aspects of information security.

ISO 27001 specifies the requirements for establishing, implementing, operating, monitoring, reviewing, maintaining and improving a documented Information Security Management System within the context of the organisation's overall business risks. It specifies requirements for the implementation of security controls customised to the needs of individual organisations or parts thereof.

ISO 27001 is designed to ensure the selection of adequate and proportionate security controls that protect information assets and give confidence to interested parties.

Adopted by the International Organisation for Standardisation in Geneva Switzerland, the ISO 27001 information security system was developed in order to establish an international standard of quality, which has proved to be one of the most rigorous international standards for system and physical security processes. The standard is therefore highly applicable to providers of IT oriented services, such as those ContactPartners provide, and ensures appropriate protection of the information security assets that are important to our organisation and to our customers.

ContactPartners recognises the significant trust and responsibility vested in us by our clients and by achieving the ISO 27001 annually audited standard we are confident in our ability to maintain the policies and processes required to ensure the integrity of information security they require.

An Information Security Management System ('ISMS') is a systematic approach to managing confidential or sensitive corporate information so that it remains secure (which means available, confidential and with its integrity intact). It encompasses people, processes and IT systems.

ContactPartners developed and introduced an ISO 27001 compliant Information Security Management System in early 2011. The first order of business was a formal Risk Assessment of all aspects of our business. The results from this allowed us to develop new and existing policies and processes where necessary as well as implementing relevant and appropriate controls. Beyond this, we also have a Continuous Improvement Plan and an Audit Programme to ensure we continue to achieve the high standards we set for ourselves.

In May 2011 IMSM Ltd carried out a rigorous assessment of our Information Security Management and we are proud to confirm that following successive annual reviews, we continue to maintain the requirements of the ISO 27001 standard.

Statement of applicability: The management of information security in the provision of; Consultancy pertaining to customer contact operations and strategy; vendor selection; implementation and management of third party software solutions; processing, storing and delivering data within hosted SaaS (Software as a Service) applications.

Corporate social responsibility

Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is about how we produce a positive impact on our employees and environment through our business activities.

Aim & objectives

By embedding CSR into our culture we'll hopefully be a responsible organisation; to help us we've set the following objectives:

  • Meet, and if possible, exceed relevant legal requirements
  • Behave honestly and with integrity in all our activities
  • Act ethically and fairly at all times in our dealings with people
  • Minimise the impact of our business operations on the environment

Managing environmental impact

We strive to continually improve our environmental performance wherever possible and make the most efficient and effective use of all resources, encouraging all staff to develop a sustainable approach to their work.

We provide recycling facilities in our offices and where possible we purchase computing hardware with low power consumption.

We minimise carbon emissions by avoiding unnecessary journeys and travelling by public transport where possible. We make extensive use of audio conferencing.

Our people

Everyone gets treated fairly, with respect, and without discrimination. We value their opinions, their thoughts, and respect their beliefs.

We encourage open discussion and the sharing of knowledge. We work in an open plan office which helps everyone to take part in the decision making processes.

We provide a safe, fulfilling and rewarding career for all our employees.

In building our team we believe in an inclusive environment which everyone feels valued and aware of the positive contribution they make to our success.

We respect and embrace diversity of skills, knowledge and talent. We take no notice of ethnicity, race, gender, nationality, age, religion, disability, or sexual orientation.

Social awareness

We want to be recognised by all our customers as their best supplier. This is no mean feat and achieving this requires a passion for excellence and a desire to exceed our customers' expectations.

We're responsible for our impact on the local community and society as a whole and strive to build and maintain a positive relationship with them.

We're fully committed to the goal of operating all of our services legally, ethically, and responsibly. And ensuring ContactPartners is a responsible corporate entity.

What is a "Cookie"?

An HTTP cookie - commonly referred to as just "cookie" - is a parcel of text sent back and forth between a web browser and the server it accesses. Its original purpose was to provide a state management mechanism between a web browser and a web server. Without a cookie (or a similar solution), a web server cannot distinguish between different users, or determine any relationship between sequential page visits made by the same user. For this reason, cookies are used to differentiate one user from another and to pass information from page to page during a single user's website session. A web server uses cookies to collect data about a given browser, along with the information requested and sent by the browser's operator (the visitor). Cookies do not identify people, but rather they are defined themselves by a combination of a computer, a user account, and a browser.

Google Analytics Cookies

Google Analytics tracking (along with most web tracking software) uses cookies in order to provide meaningful reports about your visit to our site. However, Google Analytics cookies do not collect personal data about you.

Google Analytics uses cookies to define user sessions, as well as to provide a number of key features in the Google Analytics reports. Google Analytics sets or updates cookies only to collect data required for the reports. Additionally, Google Analytics uses only first-party cookies. This means that all cookies set by Google Analytics for the ContactPartners domain send data only to the servers for that domain. This effectively means that the data cannot be altered or retrieved by any service on another domain.

The four Google analytics cookies deployed on the ContactPartners website are as follows:

This cookie is typically written to the browser upon your first visit to our sitefrom that web browser. If the cookie has been deleted by the browser operator,  and the browser subsequently visits our site, a new __utma cookie is written with a different unique ID. This cookie is used to determine unique visitors to our site and it is updated with each page view. Additionally, this cookie is provided with a unique ID that Google Analytics uses to ensure both the validity and accessibility of the cookie as an extra security measure.

2 years from set/update.

This cookie is used to establish and continue a user session with our site. When a user views a page on our site, the Google Analytics code attempts to update this cookie. If it does not find the cookie, a new one is written and a new session is established. Each time a user visits a different page on the site, this cookie is updated to expire in 30 minutes, thus continuing a single session for as long as user activity continues within 30-minute intervals. This cookie expires when a user pauses on a page on the site for longer than 30 minutes.

30 minutes from set/update.

This cookie is occasionally used to determine session status.

Historically, this cookie operated in conjunction with the __utmb cookie to determine whether or not to establish a new session for the user. For backwards compatibility purposes with sites still using the urchin.js tracking code, this cookie will continue to be written and will expire when the user exits the browser.

Not set.

This cookie stores the type of referral used by you to reach our site, whether via a direct method, a referring link, a website search, or a campaign such as an ad or an email link. The cookie is updated with each page view.

6 months from set/update

Liquid Contact Cookies

ContactPartners uses a technology called Liquid Contact (for some of the callback and other contact mechanisms), which deploys the following cookies:

Set-Cookie: ASP.NET_SessionId=; path=/; secure; HttpOnly
Set-Cookie: __MegaShield[tm]=; path=/; secure; HttpOnly

This cookie is used to track session state on the server. This is cookie is commonly used in most Microsoft Asp.Net based web sites. More details can be found here:

During the login process the ASP.NET_SessionId is cleared and regenerated to avoid session fixation attacks.

This cookie is used to prevent Cross Site Request Forgery. There a random token is placed into a form field and into this cookie. These are compared then the form is posted back to the server. If the values are different then a Security Exception is thrown.

Both Liquid Contact cookies are restricted - they are not accessible from JavaScript, and are only transferred over a secure (TLS) connection.

No user information is stored in any cookie.

If you would like to discuss or are in any way concerned about the cookies that ContactPartners deploys, please get in touch with us at your convenience. You can also find more detailed information about cookies and how to manage them on
